On the left-hand ribbon select “Print Rooms/FabLabs”

2-print-rooms

Once you select that, you’ll be directed to the print room. In the future, we may have different print rooms (print rooms for 3D printing, or other sorts of jobs, for example) but for now, we only need to worry about this one print room.

The introduction has general information about the types of jobs you can submit.

Once you’ve read that, scroll down to choose the product you want to submit.  Below the product selection, you will see a summary of your past, and present orders as well.

For now, we only have one product to select from, so select that. If you want information about a particular product, click the “down” arrow next to the title of the project. Please read the description about a print request product before you start your order so you know exactly what the print center is capable of printing!

Once you know the information, select “start order” by hovering your mouse over the Product.

This is where you will fill out all the information you need to submit your order to the Print Center! Each category may have multiple options, so please choose carefully!

For instance, “Paper Stock” will have multiple options for you to choose from, including the size of the paper, color, and type of paper. (You may only see one type of paper available, depending on your selections).

When finished there, choose your finishing options (collated, binding, lamination, etc).

You don’t need to worry about the “accounting” section for now; Papercut’s Job Ticketing feature is designed to fit the needs of many different organizations, so billing is baked into the product. Your department will not be charged any differently now than what it’s been charged in the past. (Hint: submitting large jobs to the Print Center is cheaper than printing them directly on your nearest printer!)

Once you’re finished, fill out the delivery instructions, and choose how you want the print job delivered. If there are any additional instructions, please write them down for the Print Center to handle them!

When finished, select “submit” and you’re done!

Checking Order Status

To check the status of your job, go back to the Print Room and select “My Orders”

If you need to verify any settings for the job, this is a great way to do it.  You can also re-download the file you submitted if you need to.

You can also message the print center and check comments on your orders through here as well!

Scroll down to see the comments section.  These comments are private between you and the Print Room.

You will also receive email updates regarding your order so you don’t have to keep an eye on the Printing Portal to see when your job is ready.

You will receive emails like the email chain below.
